Geese Flying over Lake Champlain

Geese Flying over Lake Champlain

Autumn in the Park provides us an overabundance of breathtaking scenes.

The Canada Geese are traveling south and right along with them come the beautiful Snow Geese. They frequent the cornfields along Point au Roche Road and if you are lucky you can catch them off the shore of the Park Beach and along the old St Armand’s beach shoreline. It gives one a new appreciation of the saying “a breath of fresh air.”

Enjoy the solace you get as you stand above the lake at the end of Long Point, Middle Point, and Short Point or upon the promontory between the Park beach and St. Armand’s. Walk under the oak trees above the Boat Launch on the Short Point trail and hear the raining acorns as the squirrels hurry to store up for winter. See the Shaggy Mane Mushrooms that pop out of the ground after an early frost.

An hour spent at Point au Roche is tonic money cannot buy. Enjoy!
