Mission Statement
The Friends of Point au Roche State Park is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization formed to protect, preserve, and promote Point au Roche State Park. The purposes of the Friends of Point Au Roche State Park include:
To serve as a voice for the people of New York State and other visitors interested in the protection, use, and perpetual maintenance of the Parklands and waters.
To promote public awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the Park’s natural, historic, and cultural resources through educational and recreational programs.
To safeguard the Park’s natural environment for public recreation and education, accessible to all.
To encourage scholarly research, documenting the natural and cultural history of the Park and its environs.
To seek, receive, and administer grants, gifts, donations, and other forms of support for the Park and its Interpretive Center programs.
To initiate, encourage, and coordinate volunteer activities and programs for the benefit of the Park and its visitors.
To sponsor or undertake any reasonable activity, in keeping with the nature of the site, intended to promote, conserve, or interpret the assets and resources of Point au Roche State Park for the benefit of the public and posterity.
